Overview

Kedai Nyonyah WD is a charming Indonesian restaurant tucked away on Jl. Durian in the Jagakarsa district of South Jakarta, offering an authentic culinary journey through Indonesian flavors. This cozy spot strikes a balance between rustic comfort and understated elegance with its vintage wooden furniture and open-air layout, creating a warm atmosphere that invites guests to linger over their meals and conversations.

The eatery specializes in traditional dishes that showcase Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage. Signature plates like Tempong Bakwan Jagung and Soto Banjar deliver robust, layered flavors, while the Nasi Liwet Ayam Goreng offers a comforting combination of aromatic rice paired with crispy fried chicken. For lovers of bold spice, the Ayam Tangkap Aceh Sambal Matah and Lele Sambal Matah stand out with their vibrant sambal — a lively chili relish that adds a fresh, piquant edge to each bite.

The menu goes beyond mains to include favorites such as Plecing Kangkung, a tangy water spinach salad, and traditional drinks like Es Teh Leci and Jus Jambu, which complement the heat and flavor intensity of the food perfectly. Patrons frequently praise the homely, comforting nature of dishes such as Mie Ayam Kare and Chicken Soto, especially appreciated during Jakarta’s cooler evenings.

While the space lacks air conditioning, the open windows allow for fresh airflow, enhancing the relaxed vibe ideal for friendly gatherings or family meals. The ambiance is vintage yet uncluttered, attracting diners who seek both a nostalgic aesthetic and genuine Indonesian tastes without pretense.

Its location in Jagakarsa offers a quiet reprieve from Jakarta’s bustling center, making it a convenient stop for locals and visitors craving traditional Indonesian cuisine in a calm setting. The customer service reflects the warmth of the food — attentive and inviting — adding to the overall positive dining experience.

With moderate pricing and a menu rich in regional specialties, Kedai Nyonyah WD is a recommended destination for those wanting to explore authentic Indonesian flavors in a setting that feels like home, whether it’s lunch, dinner, or a casual meet-up over traditional beverages.
